The English language course that had been organized at Mamrashan Camp by VOP, in cooperation with the management of Mamrashan Camp, came to an end on the 30th of October, 2017. About 30 (10-25 yrs of age) individuals participated in the course.
In cooperation with the management of Esyan Camp and Seywan Center, the management of Stop Violence Against Women in the province of Duhok and the office at Shekhan organized a seminar on violence against women for a number of women at the camp on the 29th of October, 2017. The subjects of women’s rights, how to end violence and other subjects were discussed during the seminar.
In cooperation with the management of Esyan Camp, Seywan Center organized a knitting course for the women at the camp on the 29th of October, 2017.
With the purpose of safeguarding the health of the IDP residents at Darkar Camp, a committee consisting of employees of the management and the police of the camp, visited the shops and seized the expired products. This happened on the 24th of October, 2017.
To improve the skills of the teachers and to show them what the best method of teaching is and how to deal with students, NRC (in cooperation with the management of Shekhan Camp) started a course for the teachers at Shekhan Camp on the 24th October, 2017.
For the purpose of improving the computer skills of the IDP women at the camp, VOP had organized a computer course at the camp in cooperation with the management of the camp. This course came to an end on the 23th of October, 2017. The 30 women that participated in the course, received certificates at the end of the course.
After the situation escalated in Kirkuk, many people left the city. In cooperation with Dlsozen Kurdistane, BRHA sent basic necessities to the IDPs from Kirkuk on the 22nd of October, 2017. The items consisted of: 600 blankets, 550 hygiene sets for kids, 970 diaper sets for baby’s, 1000 sets of women clothing, 6 boxes of kitchen sets, 57 cardboard boxes of toys for children and 25 cardboard boxes of children’s clothing.
