With the help and cooperation of BRHA and the management of Domiz 2 camp, UNHCR and PWJ are constructing a park of about 77m x 55m at Domiz 2 camp.
A couple of days ago, in cooperation with the committee of the Mosul governorate, the management of Esyan camp distributed an amount of money among those that have been freed from Daa’ash (ISIS). About 25 families benefited from this distribution.
After BRHA decided to interchange the managers of the IDP and refugee camps, on the 30th of August, switched the managers of the IDP camp Mamlyan and the refugee camp Aqra. Of those who were present were, Mr. Ismail Mohamed Ahmed, the governor’s assistant in IDP and refugee affairs; Mr. Idrees Nabi Salih, the executive director of BRHA; Mr. Mazn Mohamed Said, the mayor of Aqra and others. The governor’s assistant gave a speech and among the things he said was, that the purpose of this is to aid and assist the IDPs and refugees more and that as BRHA they will continue to support both managers. He also thanked the managers for their dedication and hard work and he also thanked the mayor and all those that have cooperated in aiding and assisting the IDPs and refugees. The mayor also held a speech wherein he congratulated both managers and requested the governmental agencies in Aqra to help the new managers in their job to aid and assist the IDPs and refugees.
The governor’s assistant in IDP and refugee affairs, Mr. Ismail Mohamed Ahmed and the executive director of BRHA, Mr. Idrees Nabi Salih paid the new camp, Zilkan camp, a visit. The purpose behind the visit was to see the progress of the camp in person. Until now, the area of the camp has been made level, the locations of the water wells have been selected, the roads within the camp have been prepared, the fences around the camp have been placed and in the next few days they will start with the placement of bathrooms, water pipes and drainage channels. It has also been decided that three more wells will be dug. Until now 90% of the camp has been finished.

The monthly meeting was held on the 25th of August. Of those who were present were, Mr. Ismail Mohamed Ahmed, the governor’s assistant in IDP and refugee affairs; Mr. Idrees Nabi Salih, the executive director of BRHA and Ms. Laylan Mohamed Salih, program manager of BRHA; members of the management team of BRHA; the managers of all 22 IDP and refugee camps in the province of Duhok (more are being built); the representatives of the Board of the departments of health, electricity, food items, the police and others.
They spoke about the subject of hygiene within the camps and the the importance of keeping the camps clean. The subjects of education, water, electricity, food items and other subjects, were also spoken about and how to improve the circumstances within the camps.
In order to have better roads available to the refugees from Rojava (Syrian part of Kurdistan) at Domiz 2 camp and so that they will be safe from the muddy roads during the winter, the roads of Domiz 2 camp are receiving maintenance. This happens in cooperation with BRHA, UNHCR and PWJ.
A couple of days ago, in cooperation with IOM, the management of Shekhan camp organized a computer course on Microsoft Word for a number of residents of the camp from both genders.
After the volleyball tournament had started a couple of days ago, on the 25th of August, the last match was played and the volleyball tournament came to an end. The team from the village of Banesur was able to win the final match of the tournament against team Qela Aqra and received some gifts. The tournament was held under the supervision of BRHA, the committee of off-camp IDPs and refugees in Aqra and UNICEF.
On the 23th of August 2016 the male residents of Mamrashan camp got a haircut.
The management of Gawelan camp made 5 devices available to the health center of Gawelan camp for patients with diabetes. They were also able to give the health center toys for the children’s department.
