Due to the cold winter, one of the decisions of B.R.H.A was to give kerosene to the IDPs of Camp Essyan. They gave the kerosene to about 900 families there. And the distribution will continue until all the families have received their kerosene. After that, the decision was made to give kerosene to the IDPs of Camp Bardarash. These two camps (Essyan and Bardarash) will receive their share over the next three days. All the other IDP and Refugee camps have also received their share.

The governor’s assistant in IDP and refugee affairs, Ismail Muhammad Ahmad, said:

“About 15,386 families in the refugee camps have received 3,077,200 liters of kerosene in the last few days.”

The IDP camps have received and are continuously receiving kerosene. Moreover, most of the IDP camps, about 54,222 families, have received kerosene, which amounts to about 10,744,400 liters of kerosene. So the total amount of kerosene that has been distributed to all the (IDP and Refugee) camps amounts to about 13,921,600 liters. Every family, residing in one of the (IDP or Refugee) camps, has received 200 liters of kerosene.

The governor’s assistant, Ismail Muhammad Ahmad, said:

“After the completion of the distribution of kerosene to the families inside the camps, it was decided that the IDPs and refugees living outside the camps, in the cities Duhok, Zakho and Semel, will also receive kerosene.”

It is good to note, that B.R.H.A’s employees have been assigned to the task of having all the camps receive whatever is needed during the winter, and the distribution of kerosene was one of these things.
