On the 23rd of November, the French ambassador to Iraq visited Rawanga Camp to observe the circumstances of the IDPs from close by. The French government supports two centers at the camp at which several French organizations are active.
With the purpose of supporting especially those that have been freed from Daesh, Hawar Center for supporting women (psychologically and receiving courses) was opened at Qadiya Camp on the 13th of September, 2018.
The management of Rawanga Camp had organized a football tournament for the IDPs at the camp that came to an end on the 14th of November, 2017. About 20 teams participated in the tournament and the winners were awarded gifts.
In cooperation with the management of Rawanga Camp, the directorate of Migration and Displacement in Duhok distributed health items and clothing among the IDP children at the camp on the 30th of October, 2017. About 2,720 families benefited from the distribution.
In an official ceremony, UNICEF held the opening of a child friendly space (CFS) at Qadiya Camp in cooperation with the management of the camp. Several activities took place during the ceremony that was held on the 10th of October, 2017.
The management of Qadiya Camp organized this for them on the 28th of July, 2017.
For the purpose of protecting the IDPs and refugees at the camps, a workshop on “protection” was given to the departments of the camps (Kabarto 1 and 2, Sharya, Domiz and Rawanga), that concern themselves with protection. The workshop was organized by BRHA and UNHCR and took place at Kabarto 1 Camp on the 14th of May, 2017.
