A delegation, consisting of members of the Iraqi parliament and mp’s from Erbil, Duhok, Zakho and Naynawaa visited Kabarto 1 Camp and Kabarto 2 Camp on the 2nd of December, 2018. They were welcomed by Mr. Ismail Mohamed Ahmed, the governor’s assistant in IDP and refugee affairs. The purpose of the visit was to observer the circumstances of the IDPs from close by.
At Kabartu (1 and 2) Camp the process of creating ID-cards for the IDPs has started on the 4th of October, 2018. About 200 ID-cards will be created a day (for all IDPs). The process will also start at other IDP camps in due time.
About 103 IDPs and refugees that participated in the English language course and the Computer science course, received certificates on the 16th of August, 2018. The courses had been organized by WFP, in cooperation with BRHA.
For 7 days, the IDPs at Kabartu 2 Camp were informed and advised on topics concerning hygiene. This was done for the purpose of safeguarding the health of the IDPs and about 100 volunteers participated in the event, which came to an end on the 24th of July, 2017.
A German delegation, including the German consul, visited Kabarto 2 Camp and Domiz 1 Camp on the 23rd of April, 2018. During the visit of this delegation, several projects (like establishing a park and a playground, a project concerning the water infrastructure and a community services center (which was made possible by GIZ)), were started at the camps.
