Mr. Ismail Mohamed Ahmed, the governor’s assistant in IDP and refugee affairs, and mr. Idrees Nabi Saalih, the executive director of BRHA visited Gawelan Refugee Camp on the 5th of February as a continuation of visiting all camps and checking on the circumstances at the camps.
In cooperation with the management of Gawelan Camp and the financial support of UNICEF, BCF distributed clothing and necessities for the winter among 3.489 children (0-14yrs of age) at Gawelan Camp. This happened on the 9th of January, 2018.
In cooperation with the management of Gawelan Camp, Save The Children organized a festival for the refugee children on the 3rd of December, 2017. This was done to support the rights of children.
In cooperation with the management of Gawelan Camp, ASB and DPA distributed funds among the children at the camp (under 18yrs of age). Each of the 3,955 children received 11,000IQD on the 4th of December, 2017.
In cooperation with Gawelan Camp, MAG gave a seminar to the staff of the camp on the dangers of mines and explosives on the 14th of November, 2017. During the seminar, about 50 individuals were made aware on how to protect themselves from mines and explosives (by way of pictures and warning signs that are placed at locations where mines and explosives can be found).
