The Iraqi Red Crescent and the Norwegian Red Cross provided the camps of Domiz with necessary items for the ambulances on the 17th of September, 2018.
About 103 IDPs and refugees that participated in the English language course and the Computer science course, received certificates on the 16th of August, 2018. The courses had been organized by WFP, in cooperation with BRHA.
In cooperation with BRHA and the financial support of the Kuwaiti government (an estimated amount of $3,552,000), 150 houses at Domiz 1 Camp and Domiz 2 Camp will be built and about 1,500 houses will receive maintenance. This is for the purspose of improving the circumstances of the refugees from Syria. The Kuwaiti consul general to Kurdistan also visited both camps on the 3th of May to check on the project.
A German delegation, including the German consul, visited Kabarto 2 Camp and Domiz 1 Camp on the 23rd of April, 2018. During the visit of this delegation, several projects (like establishing a park and a playground, a project concerning the water infrastructure and a community services center (which was made possible by GIZ)), were started at the camps.
In order to support the refugees from Syria (western part of Kurdistan) in the province of Duhok, a project has started of building 150 houses and the maintenance of 1,450 houses at Domiz 1 Camp and Domiz 2 Camp. The project will be done by UNHCR, under the supervision of BRHA. This project was started on the 28th of December, 2017 and will take about 5 months to be completed.
