A cabin at Dawidiya Camp caught fire due to an electrical heater on the 31st of January, 2018. This caused 6 cabins to be burned to the ground and the residents lost their possessions in the process. The good news is that no lives were lost in the accident.
In cooperation with BRHA, the ministry of Migration and Displacement started the distribution of kerosene among the IDPs at the camps in the province of Duhok on the 28th of November, 2017. The distribution started at Dawidiya Camp and about 660 families at the camp benefited from the distribution and received 200 liters each.
In cooperation with the management of Dawidiya Camp, the directorate of migration and displacement distributed special gas ovens (tanir) among 659 families at the camp on the 26th of November, 2017. Every 3 families received an oven.
With the purpose of safeguarding the health of the IDP residents of Dawidiya camp, a committee consisting of employees of the management and the police of the camp, visited the shops and seized the expired products. This happened on the 20th of August, 2017.
In cooperation with the management of Dawidiya Camp, a course on how to create and handle projects came to an end on the 31st of July, 2017. The course was made possible in cooperation with Friyakewtna Mli.
In cooperation with Dawidiya Camp, the organization STEP IN organized a photo exhibition on the life of the IDPs at the camp on the 19th of July, 2017.
