On the 19th of February the football tournament organized for the camps in Zakho came to an end. Bersivy 2 Camp had organized the tournament and 4 camps participated in the tournament: Bersivy 1 and 2, Chamishko and Darkar. Twelve teams were formed from these camps and participated in the tournament. Chamishko Camp won the tournament in the end.
At Chamishko camp, the power network was checked by a team and they were able to reverse several cases of fraud. They started the operation on the 1st of February, 2018.
The volleyball tournament that was organized at Chamishko Camp came to an end on the 8th of February, 2018. The tournament was organized by BCF, in cooperation with the management of the team. The teams Lawen Sharya and Kucu played the final game and Lawen Sharya won the game and thus the tournament.
The traffic rules were explained to all drivers (IDPs and others) at Chamishko Camp on the 1st of February, 2018. The seminar was organized by Rawange Agency in cooperation with the management of the camp and the directorate of traffic in Duhok.
At Chamishko Camp they started a campaign to raise awareness around the dangers of fire and the regulations on how to extinguish fires on the 31st of January, 2018.
In cooperation with BRHA; UNICEF and BCF started the distribution winter clothing at Chamishko Camp on the 23rd of January, 2018. About 10,000 cardboard boxes of winter clothing will be distributed among the children and pregnant women.
On the 11th of January, 2018, the distribution of Gas ovens for making bread started at Chamishko Camp. The management of Chamishko Camp will be responsible for the distribution in cooperation with the directorate of migration and displacement. About 1,250 ovens will be distributed within a week and every 4 families will be receiving 1 Gas oven. Less electricity will be used due to using these Gas ovens and the load on the power network will decrease due to this.
To support the IDPs of Chamishko Camp, especially during the winter, KURDOS has started the waste water channels project. They are planning to create 8 km of channels inside the camp and this will cost about $126,000. The project will be completed in about 40 days.
On the 9th of November, 5000 boxes of hygiene products were distributed among the IDP families at Chamishko Camp..
