On the 7th of January, special items were distributed among the IDPs with special needs at Bersivy 2 Camp. The distribution was made possible by UNHCR and QANDIL, in cooperation with the management of the camp (BRHA).
Winter clothing was distributed among a total of 3,388 IDP children (1 year old up to 14 years old) at Bersivy 2 Camp and Esyan Camp on the 19th and 23rd of December, 2018. This was made possible by UNICEF, in cooperation with BRHA (the managements of the camps) (3,300 children at Bersivy 2 Camp). Akorn made the distribution among 88 children possible on the 19th of December at Esyan Camp.
On the 5th of December, the American consul general to the Kurdish region visited Domiz 2 Camp in order to be able to observe the circumstances of the refugees of the camp from close by. He made clear that they will be continuing their support of the Kurdish region and the IDPs and refugees in the region. After that they visited several refugee homes and the health center at the camp.
On the 24th of September, tents were distributed among the IDPs (whose tents have deteriorated) at Bersivy 2 Camp. Qandil made this possible in cooperation with BRHA (the management of Bersivy 2 Camp). During this process, 581 tents were distributed. The tents were distributed now because of the coming Winter.
With the purpose of supporting the IDP women at Bersivy 2 Camp and creating job opportunities for them, a number of women (36) received a 10-day barber course. The course, which was organized by Delal Center, in cooperation with the management of the Camp (BRHA), came to an end on the 4th of September, 2018.
15 IDP women are participating in a 15-day sewing course at Bersivy 1 Camp on the 9th of August, 2018. The course has been organized by QANDIL, in cooperation with the management of the camp.
SOSD had organized a football tournament at Bersivy 2 Camp, in cooperation with the management of the camp. The tournament, in which 10 teams participated, came to an end on the 26th of July, 2018.
With the purpose of creating job opportunities for IDPs, refugees and the local people in Zakho, several courses for improving skills came to an end on the 27th of June, 2018. About 155 young adults participated in the courses that took about a year. Among those responsible for making these courses possible were, ACF and BRHA.
