A UNDP delegation visited Khanky IDPs camp

FEB 04, 2020, Mr. Ismail Mohammed Ahmed welcomed UNDP Iraq director Mrs. Zina Ali and UNDP Erbil office director at Khanky camp.

Initially, Pir Alo Khanky the camp manager gave a brief introduction about the camp population and demography, as well as the projects implemented by UNDP. Then, Mr. Ismail expressed his gratitude for
the support UNDP has provided over the past years and discussed the critical issues in Duhok governorate among IDPs and refugees as the reason not providing enough support from INGOs and NGOs.

Upon this discussion, Mr. Ismail Mohammed encouraged UNDP to help for more efforts for the Duhok governorate. Later, the delegation took a look around the camp and checked the state of life of camp residents.

Nevertheless, the purpose behind the delegation’s visit to Duhok governorate was to announce and sign the contract for its 2020 project of solar energy to Duhok University.
